WOW Friday: power, politics and women in the workplace

Women of the World Festival

WOW Friday focuses on power, politics and women in the workplace. It looks at how ensuring women’s futures – in areas including healthcare, entrepreneurship, science and technology, community development, education, business and politics – can ensure a more stable society for all. Network with women from across the career and job spectrum, hear from a range of female entrepreneurs and professionals and take part in our speed mentoring sessions. Everyone is welcome, whatever your gender and whether or not you are employed.

Friday talks include:

Disruption: Breaking and Re-making the Mould
What opportunities are there for women in a world that’s constantly being disrupted by technology and new ideas? Come and hear from the experts about the part that women are playing, how women can capitalise on this phenomenon, and how ‘stale, male and pale’ no longer cuts it.

Hands on the Levers of Power
From education to war and from medical research to politics, what would it be like if women had the power? What choices would they make and would other women automatically be supported? Come and have your say.

Enjoy a range of workshops, including How to Get a Pay Rise, How to Get Elected, and What You Can Do About the Gender Pay Gap.
