For those of you on Twitter, here’s something really exciting to help you recover from the #femfog controversy of the last 48 hours… This has only just come together in the last couple of days, so apologies for the really short notice.
ScienceGrrl is excited to be partnering with the House of Commons for a #womeninSTEM Twitter chat on Monday 18 January 2016, 12-1pm.
And we want you to take part!
The event is intended to start a conversation ahead of a debate in Westminster Hall on Tuesday 19 January 2016 from 4.30-5.30pm. The debate is proposed by Ben Howlett MP and is titled “Increasing diversity in STEM”.
We’d love to invite you to share your stories, experiences and ideas using #womeninSTEM. We’ll be facilitating the chat, and want to hear from as many of you as possible. It’s a real chance to inform the Westminster Hall debate and keep pushing for action. Please share this opportunity around as much as you can, too.
So, please do also encourage your MP to attend the debate! You can do so here: http://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-an-mp-or-lord/contact-your-mp/
You will be able to find Tuesday’s debate online at Parliament TV, but you can also watch in person: http://www.parliament.uk/visiting/visiting-and-tours/watch-committees-and-debates/westminster-hall-debates/
Hope to see you on Twitter!
