Where are all the Women in IT?
Why are there so few women working in the IT industry? asks Rubi Kaur. She takes us on a light hearted journey to look back and explain how this was not always the case.
So what can businesses now do to help increase the numbers of women into the IT industry and why is it so important?
Rubi is a Senior Technical Architect at Vodafone Group. She has a successful track record in Central Government where her experience includes delivery of projects in mobile technologies along with pioneering green IT policies across Government, and also the private sector at BT and O2.
Rubi is a fellow of the BCS (The British Computer Society – the Chartered Institute for IT), also serving on the committee for BCSWomen and on the SteerCo for the Vodafone Group Womens network, where she leads the “Inspiring Leadership” programme. Rubi is passionate for the encouragement and advancement for more Women in IT and was recently elected to the British Computer Society Advisory Council and acts as a Judge for the Computer Weekly’s Most Influential Women in UK IT awards 2016.
