Title: Encouraging wider diversity in the cyber security workforce: Women in Security
Hosted by KPMG
Date: 24 February 2016
Time: TBC (lunch will be provided)
Address: KPMG, 15 Canada Square, London, E14 5GL
The number of women working in the cyber security industry is still very much in the minority. This is despite that fact that the industry in the UK is quite diverse in many ways, embracing individuals from many different ethnic and educational backgrounds. But the imbalance in the ratio of women working in cyber security is a common problem in technical disciplines, including more traditional forms of engineering. Whilst there are a number of initiatives working to establish active programmes to address this problem, we would like to bring these initiatives together and draw on personal views and experiences to provide a more coordinated approach. This would have a greater impact and show a more cohesive methodology to allow for more efficient use of limited resources.
If you are an influencer from a professional institution, business or public sector body who has an interest in improving the current levels of diversity and a focus on how to attract more women into security, please register to join this workshop by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Please note: If you register to attend, we will contact you prior to the workshop to conduct a short telephone interview to gather some information, which will be collated and discussed during the workshop.
