Title: Graduate Software Engineer / Developer C# .NET
Salary: £18000
Role: Permanent
Location: Sheffield

Job Details:
This is a unique opportunity for a graduate developer / software engineer to join a lively business with a wonderful culture and small business mind-set, but an international reach and reputation. This is a fun environment with a collaborative approach to working and a communal way of ensuring that everyone gets trained. Flexible working hours are the norm and there are childcare vouchers. Everyone gets their own individual training budget and the company offers comprehensive health cover. All this and a unique sense of wellbeing!

The company’s main commercial focus is its software suite for the rail industry and it has been winning plenty of awards for its collection of applications. This graduate developer / software engineer will be responsible for working on the applications in the suite of products. There will be support from the senior software engineer and the head of development and other members of the team who are adept at supporting and guiding this talented team of .NET developers. The team likes to share though, so you will find that the seniors have a real ‘hands on’ approach to all the projects.

Key Skills:

The things a self motivated graduate developer / software engineer might learn at this company are:

• All of the stages of the software development lifecycle, meaning that you will get to work with UI/UX Designers at the front-end, QA Engineers on testing and Project Managers who keep the work on track

• Implementing the most suitable architecture and development approach for any given project as guided by the Technical Architects.

• Contributing to an end of project report, analysing the success of the project and any learning points.

• Producing secure and high quality code.

And there is a real future at the company, since they employ senior developers / software engineers and lead developers, so you will see a real career path.

It would be useful to have a basic knowledge of technologies including: C#, MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, SQL Server etc. Since the company will respond well to candidates with an awareness of using source code security, version control, issue monitoring and builds, that would also be valuable, as would an awareness of Test Driven Development
